Gareth Gorman (born: 14 June 1974) is a former Derry City, Galway United, Finn Harps and Sligo Rovers defender/midfielder from Letterkenny who became a coach at Dundalk this season after being approached by his former Sligo boss Sean Connor. Gareth started out his career at Derry City and made his League of Ireland debut during the 1995/96 season. He spent the following year at his hometown club, Letterkenny Rovers, before returning to the league with Galway United at the start of the 1998/99 season. He would remain at Terryland Park for that and the next three seasons before moving to Finn Harps during the 2001/02 campaign. A left-sided player, Gorman left Finn Park after just 13 league appearances and joined Sligo. In his second year at the Showgrounds, in 2003, Gorman was involved in controversy as he was booked twice in an FAI Cup tie against Shelbourne but not sent off. Sligo won the game 3-2 and progressed to the FAI Cup quarter-finals despite protests from Shels and a review by the FAI Domestic Committee.
Gorman spent a further two seasons with the Bit O’ Red but his time as a player came to an end after just seven outings during 2005 - Sligo’s First Division title-winning season - as an injury curtailed his career and forced him to retire at the age of 31. He continued to coach at Sligo and was assistant manager to Connor, while he also spent time as Under-21 assistant manager at Galway. He rejoined forces with Connor this year when he arrived at Oriel Park, with the 34-year-old entrusted with overseeing the club’s A-Championship team. Gareth is a brother of former Finn Harps manager Tony Gorman.
Miller joined Clyde in June 2005 as assistant manager to Graham Roberts but continued to combine playing with that role. He scored twice in 15 appearances in what was to prove to be his last ever campaign as a player, as he took over as manager of the club in 2006. During that year, Miller took Clyde to the Challenge Cup final, the club’s first national final in almost 40 years. In May 2007, however, Joe rejected a new contract offer from the club and left. He was not seen again in football until last January when he decided to take up Connor’s offer to join the coaching staff at Oriel Park for Dundalk’s return to the Premier Division for the first time since 2002.
