Michael ‘Mickey’ Collins (born: 6 September 1977) is a midfielder who stepped on to the League of Ireland ladder for the first time in his career this season when signing for Dundalk. Collins has endured a difficult start to life at Oriel Park, however, as, after getting sent off in the Malone Cup game with Drogheda United, he was refused international clearance which has led to his competitive club debut being delayed. Collins won the Irish League title with Cliftonville in 1998, their first such success in 88 years.
