This weekend is a busy and daunting weekend for a number of individuals who went to extreme lengths to raise funds for Dundalk FC. This years Lilywhites on the Run features Dundalk FC Director Kevin Holland who is running the Connemara International Marathon and Robbie Mackin and Alex Givens who are taking part in the “Great Ireland Run” in the Phoenix Park.

Money raised to Youths & Ladies
Kevin Holland explained the reasons behind the run to dundalkfc.com: “Simply having been involved in the club at board level for some time now I wanted to marry my personal ambition for running the marathon along with my desire to raise much needed funds to help financing the Youth and Ladies areas of the football club. My colleague on the board Paddy Greene from Blue Sky Mortgages is the main sponsor of the event. Sponsorship will still be taken after the runs and I hope that Dundalk fans support my efforts as well as Robbie and Alex’s run in the Phoenix Park.

Trust Run
Robbie Mackin has been a member of DFC Trust and a pro-active volunteer since its inaugural meeting. Speaking recently about the upcoming event he stated, “I’m happy to be supporting the Trust with this fundraiser, I think it’s an important aspect of our Club. My brother Simon held the position of Secretary from the setting up of the Trust until he headed off on a round the world trip last year. Alex and myself are happy to lend our efforts to the Trust by donating whatever funds we raise through sponsorship for the Great Ireland Run”.
