Maeve McQuillan has taken up her new role as Club Secretary having recently taken over from Kevin Holland. Maeve, who is well known as a long-term supporter of the club and regular season ticket holder, has already begun her new voluntary role within the club. Maeve brings extensive organisational and administrative experience to the club, having of late retired from a key role within DkIT. Kevin Holland stepped down from the board in December to concentrate on his existing roles as the club FAI delegate and Bar Manager, while also spearheading a revamped Lotto committee to boost this important source of club revenue.

Other board changes this week include Paddy Greene and Des Denning, who have decided to step down from the board following a review of the strategic development of the club operations. Paddy has made an invaluable contribution to the club over a period of 4 years of staunch voluntary service on the board, and he will continue with the management of the on-going FAI budgetary and licensing process on behalf of the club. Additionally Paddy will also be focused on further Commercial and Fund-raising projects over the course of the year. Des Denning, who rejoined the board last year, having previously served as Club Chairman from 2000 to 2004, has made further valuable contributions to the club in the recent months, dedicating a huge amount of time and energy to the club.

Des Denning added “Having rejoining the board some months ago it is regrettable and unfortunate that I cannot continue. I took on a role on the football side of things to work towards developing a management and team that would put the club in a challenging position in the future. Unfortunately my views in this area was at variance with that of the majority of the board and in my own best interests and that of Dundalk FC a parting of the ways is the only option. I will continue to be a season ticket holder at Oriel Park and will support the football club in every way that I can.”

We are particularly fortunate to have had these talented individuals on the board in the recent past, and I am sincerely appreciative of the efforts of these and other board and club volunteers.  It is encouraging where former board members opt to continue to provide active support for the clubs efforts in other vital roles.  It is also marvellous that Maeve McQuillan has recently opted to join the board, and she will certainly add a further dimension to the club in the vital Club Secretary role.”
