A Valentine story with a difference emerged over the weekend when Olivia Muckian set about getting the perfect Valentine gift. Rather then compete with the other love in Gary Halpenny's life - Dundalk Football Club - Olivia decided to meet the challenge head on and get Gary the new Dundalk away jersey as the ultimate token of her love! When she visited the Oriel Park shop on Friday last to buy the jersey, Dundalk FC manager Ian Foster strolled into the shop and got chatting with Olivia. When Ian learned of the tale of romance behind the newly acquired jersey, he volunteered to embellish the token of love by getting the jersey autographed by the players at the Bray Wanderers game the following day.
True to his word Ian arranged for all the Dundalk players to sign the jersey with the personalised message to Gary, and meet with Olivia and Gary to hand over the most unique of Valentine gifts at Oriel Park on Saturday night.
