Malahide United came from 2-0 down to inflict a first defeat of the season on Dundalk Youths as they lost 3-2 at Gannon Park in the DDSL U18 Super League on Sunday afternoon.

The young Lilywhites went into the game with maximum points, the first of their two wins coming when they came from two behind to win 3-2 in Drogheda.

However, they were this time on the end of an unlikely comeback.

Dundalk looked to be in control when they scored twice in the opening quarter-hour, Brian Bird firing in the first on ten minutes before Conor McDonald added a second shortly after.

However, Malahide, with the help of some questionable refereeing decisions in difficult conditions, struck back with three second-half goals to condemn the young Lilywhites to their first defeat of the campaign.
