David McMillan has left the club to join Scottish club St. Johnstone.
McMillan joined the Lilywhites ahead of the 2014 season and has had phenomenal success at the club. During his four seasons at the club he has played a key role in the three league titles the club has claimed, the FAI Cup and two EA SPORTS Cups.
McMillan may be best remembered for his record in European competition and in particular the UEFA Champions League where he netted on seven occasions including twice against BATE Borisov in the third qualifying round in 2016. It also made him the club’s highest scorer in European competition.
The 28 year-old made 125 appearances during his time at Oriel Park and scored 74 goals.
Everyone at Dundalk Football Club would like to thank David for his effort, commitment and professionalism over the past four years and we wish him all the very best at St. Johnstone and his future career.
The striker thanked the club and the fans in a post on his Twitter page.
