A number of the club’s academy players will be in action at this weekend’s FAI Schools U18 Boys’ Interprovincial Tournament at the AUL Complex.

Eoin Kenny (above), (St Mary’s College, Dundalk), Callum Bonner (St Patrick’s Classical School, Navan), Tom McLoughlin (Malahide Community School) and Aidan Russell Vargas (Lusk Community College) have been named in the Leinster squad which is managed by former Dundalk FC centre-back – and current bray Wanderers manager – Ian Ryan, along with local man Fintan Sheridan.

Thomas Brady (Largy College, Clones) and Dualta Honney (Patrician High School, Carrickmacross) are part of the Ulster panel.

The three-day event, which will see a series of six matches played with provinces awarded two points for a win and one point for a draw, gets underway on Friday when Leinster take on Munster in the opening game at 4pm before Ulster take on holders Connacht at 6.30pm.

In keeping with the long-standing tradition of maintaining interest in the competition until the final matches on Sunday, the draw for Saturday’s and Sunday’s matches will be made following the games on Friday evening.

The Interprovincial series will be the first step in the process of selecting the 18-man FAI Schools International squad which will compete in the SAFIB Centenary Shield competition in February and March of next year.
