We would like to thank everyone for the fantastic turnout and level of support that was shown to the team in the first League of Ireland game of the season against UCD at Oriel Park.

Despite the poor weather, a crowd of 3,142 came through the turnstiles on Friday evening, which was a really encouraging sign on the opening night of the campaign.

Unfortunately, we witnessed, and were made aware of, incidents of antisocial behaviour in the home sections of the ground which saw a number of individuals ejected from Oriel Park.

During these incidents, members of our match night staff, who give up their time on a voluntary basis to help the club, were verbally abused.

This small minority of individuals do not represent the Dundalk FC fanbase and risk ruining the match night experience for everyone.

Dundalk FC will continue to adopt a zero-tolerance attitude toward this kind of behaviour as we strive to make Oriel Park a welcoming environment for people of all ages.

Juvenile Tickets

There were a total of 475 juvenile ticket holders sold for the game against UCD last Friday.

Unfortunately, we are aware that a number of these tickets were purchased – and used for entry – by people over the age of 12, including a number of adults.

To combat this abuse, a limited number of juvenile ground tickets will be available for each home game this season. After this point, tickets will only be available in the other price categories. The club will review this policy throughout the season.

We would encourage parents or guardians of children under the age of 12 to purchase juvenile ground tickets as early as possible in the week leading up to a home game to avoid having to pay a higher ticket price on match nights.

Juvenile season tickets represent the best value for supporters. A juvenile ground season ticket costs €60, meaning that U12s enjoy six free games a season.

Juvenile allocated stand season tickets are priced at €120 while a juvenile general stand season ticket now costs €90, representing a saving of €54 across the campaign.

Unaccompanied juveniles

Finally, we would like to remind supporters that children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a paying adult in order to attend a match at Oriel Park this season.

Dundalk FC is not responsible for children who attend a fixture unaccompanied and they will be refused entry to the ground unless an adult is present with them.

We ask parents and guardians to assist us with this request and not to drop unaccompanied supporters under the age of 12 off at Oriel Park or on the Carrick Road.
