Over 80 local children and their parents descended on Oriel Park for a football blitz and sports day organised by Tuath Housing.

Tuath Housing, which provides social housing to over 22,000 residents across Ireland and has an office in the town centre, partnered with Dundalk FC to provide a fun-filled afternoon for families living in the Ardee and Dundalk area.

A three-hour football tournament was the main feature for the children while there were also three-legged races, egg and spoon races, dodge ball and penalty shootouts.

However, the highlight of the day for Dundalk FC supporters young and old was a meet and greet with members of the squad and management team.

Lilywhites head coach Stephen O’Donnell, community officer Liam Burns and players Greg Sloggett, Lewis Macari and Sam Bone were all on hand to sign autographs and pose for pictures.

The event took place to celebrate the launch of Tuath Housing’s first Tenant Engagement Strategic Plan.
