Cootehill Harps 1-9 Dundalk FC Ladies

NEFL Women’s North Division

Dundalk Ladies were back in action on Monday night as they made the trip to Cavan to take on Cootehill Harps in the NEFL Women’s North Division.

The Lilywhites came into the game high on confidence, having defeated Quay Celtic in their opening league game two weeks ago, and that confidence was clear to see when Dundalk dismantled Cootehill in a top class performance.

After a week away from league action due to a late cancellation of their match last week, Dundalk started on the front foot and took the lead after five minutes through Louise Johnson.

They built on their good start in excellent fashion, as Johnson added two more goals in a wonderful first half hat-trick, before Caoimhe Mulholland added a fourth before the break.

Cootehill had the better start to the second half and were rewarded for their efforts with a goal, but there was to be no comeback for the Cavan side, as Dundalk went on to score another five goals in a stunning performance.

Dayna Ferguson, Katie Brophy, Katie Moran, Caoimhe Crichton and Stephanie Cunningham all got in on the act to make it a near perfect game for the girls, who maintain their winning start to the season.
