Dundalk FC: We See Things They’ll Never See | Book Launch
Vinny Perth’s glorious first season in charge of Dundalk FC is recounted in a new book that will be launched this Wednesday night at 7pm in the Nursing Building at DkIT.
‘We See Things They’ll Never See’, a 304 page-publication by Dundalk Sport editor Gavin McLaughlin, tells the story of Dundalk FC’s 2019 campaign which saw the Lilywhites retain the SSE Airtricity League title and go agonisingly close to completing an unprecedented clean sweep of all five domestic trophies.
Stephen Kenny’s departure meant there were plenty of question marks hanging over Dundalk FC ahead of the 2019 campaign but Perth and his players responded emphatically by overturning a 13-point deficit to win the club’s fifth league title in six years.
With Sean Gannon, Michael Duffy, Chris Shields and Daniel Kelly all playing starring roles, the Lilywhites pieced together a club record, 31-game domestic unbeaten run, which also saw them pick up the President’s Cup, the EA Sports Cup and the inaugural Unite the Union Champions Cup as well as reaching the FAI Cup final and the third qualifying round of the Europa League.
All four of the club’s trophies will be on display at the launch night which will also feature a Q&A Session with Lilywhites head coach Vinny Perth.
The book, priced at €25, will be available to buy on the night and will also be on sale in a number of outlets around town as well as on-line at www.dundalksport.ie
