PLAYER PROFILE
Equally adept at full-back or wing-back, the Lurgan native proved to be a key component in the Dundalk team that won the FAI Cup and qualified for the UEFA Europa League group stages in 2020.
After coming through the youth ranks at Cliftonville, he signed a two-year scholarship deal with English Championship side Burnley in July 2012 and won the club’s Youth Player of the Year award in his debut season.
He was an unused substitute in Burnley’s Premier League games against Chelsea, Southampton, Watford and Swansea in the 2013/14 season and signed a two-year contract with the Clarets but after spending time on loan at Oldham Athletic in 2015, he moved to Boundary Park for an undisclosed fee in 2016.
Capped at U17, U19 and U21 level for Northern Ireland, he made 85 appearances for the Latics in English League One and League Two and was named Oldham Athletic’s Young Player of the Year in 2017 before making the switch to Dundalk in March 2019.
With game time limited under Vinny Perth, Cammy moved on loan to Crusaders at the start of the 2020 campaign but he returned to Oriel Park in June of last year and after recovering from a nasty ankle injury, he became an integral part of the side under Filippo Giovagnoli, starting in three of the club’s UEFA Europa League group stage games including the MD6 game against Arsenal at the Dublin Arena.
