
PLAYER PROFILE
Born in London, Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe – known simply to the fans as Junior – was a member of the youth teams at Leyton Orient, Ilford and Milwall, before tasting senior football for the first time at Enfield 1893.
He spent the first three seasons of his career at different clubs around the non-league pyramid before moving to Cyprus to join Türk Ocagi Limassol. He spent 18 months at the club, winning the Cypriot Cup in 2017.
The talented young forward returned to England in July 2017, signing for Isthmian League North Division side Maldon & Tiptree – where he burst onto the scene, scoring 34 goals in 34 games.
This form caught the attention of League Two side Colchester United, who signed him in January 2018. Junior made 12 appearances for Colchester before joining Bromley on loan in July of that year. He scored six times in 25 appearances before moving on again.
His next port of call was a loan spell at Derry City and he impressed in his loan spell at the Brandywell – scoring 14 times in 31 appearances – with his clever movement and quality finishing catching the eye of many.
Following his loan spell in the League of Ireland, Junior moved to Israel to join Hapoel Hadera on a permanent deal but he made just five appearances before the cancellation of the Israeli Premier League due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
He returned to the League of Ireland in July 2020, signing for Sligo Rovers, where he made 12 appearances, helping them to a fourth-place finish, before signing for Dundalk ahead of the 2021 season.
