Dundalk FC manager Ian Foster admits there was “a little bit of pressure” on his team going into the UCD test but stated that he was “delighted” with how his players responded to last week’s disappointment.

Foster, who felt his side were “more disciplined”, went on to praise the impact that Mark Quigley has made at the club, labelling the 25-year-old striker as “phenomenal”, after he scooped the March Player of the Month award.

The Liverpool-born boss also looked forward to Dundalk’s next league outing, away to Derry City next Friday. It will be the first time that Foster has led the Lilywhites into a competitive match against Derry, though he has plenty of experience of them from his time at Galway United in 2008 and 2009, and he admitted that he “genuinely loves going to the Brandywell”.
