Hoare: Tough Game
Seán Hoare believes the home game against Shamrock Rovers FC is going to be another tough encounter.
The Lilywhites host Stephen Bradley’s side at Oriel Park on Sunday as the sides play out their second fixture in cup competition with Dundalk conquering the Hoops 3-0 to secure their sixth EA SPORTS Cup a fortnight ago.
“I think that Shamrock Rovers will be out to prove a point on Sunday,” the central defender said. “We beat them 3-0 in the EA SPORTS Cup final and I’m sure that this will another tough game.
“They gave us a tough game in Oriel the last time when they beat us 1-0 in the league so we will certainly want to put that right too.
“It will be a very tough battle but I’m sure that we can do our stuff and come out on top.”
Hoare acknowledged the tremendous travelling support at Tallaght Stadium and is hoping for a similar atmosphere at a sold out Oriel Park on Sunday’s Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup, semi-final clash.
“I know it’s a kind of a cliché to say the supporters are like a 12th man but they really are,” stated the 23-year old.
“In the EA SPORTS Cup final at Tallaght Stadium Shamrock Rovers had a lot of fans there as you would expect for a home game – but we had a super support and that really spurred us on.
“It would be great to have a packed Oriel Park and a huge home support can really spur us on to get through to the final.”
