“I never thought there’d be anything wrong with me if I got it but it wasn’t nice. I had five or six days where I was in a bad way. It was the aftermath that really annoyed me, the secondary illness if you like. I had soreness in my lungs and it was frustrating because it knocked me back for three weeks.”

Speaking ahead of our UEFA Europa Conference League clash in Tallinn on Thursday night, Patrick Hoban discussed the effects of contracting Covid-19. The striker has missed Dundalk’s last five games after falling foul of the virus but he returned to training this week and travelled to Estonia on Wednesday with the rest of the squad.
