Hoban Scoops POTM Award
Dundalk striker Patrick Hoban has been named SSE Airtricity/SWAI Player of the Month for June.
The 26 year-old had a blistering month in which he found the net an on five times in his four matches.
He is the leagues top scorer in what has been an incredible season for the front man to date and leads the charts with 21 goals in the league.
It is the third time that the Galway native has picked up the award and the first time since his return to the Lilywhites. His previous gongs came in July 2013 and October 2014 respectively.
Speaking after receiving the trophy Hoban said: “It’s great! The gaffer [Stephen Kenny] told me on Sunday, and it’s a good feeling to win one.
“I didn’t expect to have as many goals at this time in the season, especially as I didn’t get a pre-season into me [due to injury].
“Personally, it means that you’re doing something right but it also shows the whole team are working well together.
“We’re scoring goals and winning football matches, and that comes from the team around you.”
