Jim Wins Vinny’s Medal As Rehab Care Fundraiser Surpasses €2,500 Mark
Jim Kelly was pulled out of the hat on Monday afternoon to win Dundalk FC manager Vinny Perth’s 2019 league winners medal as part of his fundraiser for Rehab Care.
The Lilywhites boss, who is an ambassador for the local disability service, set up a GoFundMe page back in May which raised over €2,500.
“I’d like to thank everyone for the kind donations,” said Vinny. “We raised just over €2,500 for a brilliant charity. Rehab Care do some wonderful work for the most vulnerable people in our society.”
Stephen Caraher, a programme supervisor at Rehab Care Dundalk, drew the winning ticket and he paid tribute to Perth for handing over his league-winning medal.
“I’d like to say a massive word of thanks to Vinny for the wonderful gesture of donating his league medal in aid of Rehab Care. All of our members are absolutely thrilled to have him on board.”
Over 100 adults with disabilities access the three Rehab Care resource centres in Louth and supported accommodation in the county.
A further 80 children and their families rely on the Maria Goretti service for critical respite care. If you would like more information on Rehab Care you can visit their website.
