Kick off Christmas at Oriel Park this Saturday!
Q: What do Vinny Perth, Dundalk’s first team players, our 2019 trophy haul and Santa have in common?
A: They’ll all be at Oriel Park this Saturday (30 November) to celebrate the Christmas opening of the Dundalk FC club shop, as our new 2020 Umbro range goes on sale ahead of the festive season.
The Christmas launch event kicks off at 11am and the Lilywhites’ new Umbro home kit will be on show, modelled by a number of Dundalk players who, along with head coach Vinny Perth, will be in the Lilywhite Lounge to meet supporters, sign autographs and pose for photos.
Santa himself will also be making an appearance to keep our young Lilywhites happy, whilst the 2019 trophy haul will be on display for supporters who want a celebratory photo with the team’s four trophies from 2019.
The newly-refurbished club shop will be officially opened for the festive season at 11:30, with Dundalk supporters able to get their hands on our new range of Umbro gear for the 2020 season in plenty of time for Christmas.
The club has today announced its extended Christmas opening hours, which will see the Oriel Park shop open every day from Saturday 30 November until Christmas Eve (see times below).
2020 season tickets will also be available for supporters to renew or purchase, with the club this week announcing a price freeze on season ticket prices for the 2020 season.
All supporters who wish to renew their season ticket can do so at any point before Christmas – tickets available to collect from 9 December – whilst supporters buying a season ticket for the first time have until Friday 13 December to place their order in time to collect before Christmas.
Having moved the club shop out from Oriel Park to various retail outlets in town in recent years, the club has this year taken the decision to base all operations – tickets and merchandise – from Oriel Park, allowing supporters to purchase both from the same location.
Dundalk FC general manager Martin Connolly said: “We investigated all possibilities of a retail unit in town again this year but, having weighed up the available options in all locations, we decided to focus our retail efforts on the Oriel Park club shop.
“This decision was based on a number of factors, including the units available, potential footfall, staffing and security costs plus, of course, convenience for our supporters.
“So having weighed up all our options and taking into account the views of many of our supporters over this and previous years, we have decided to base all operations in Oriel this year. We know that the chance to buy season tickets and pop into the club shop in one visit will go down well with many of our supporters.
“Oriel Park is close to the town centre, there’s plenty of free parking available directly outside the ground, plus we’ve extended our opening hours so that we’re open every day from this Saturday until Christmas, with late night and Sunday opening key factors in our decision-making process.
“Season tickets will be on sale from Oriel whenever the club shop is open and we’ve got a brand new range of Umbro kit and training wear in stock, so I’m confident that there will be something for every supporter and a great range of Christmas gifts available.”
