Lilywhites Suffer Defeat At Dalymount
Dundalk fell to their first defeat domestically on Friday night after a 2-1 defeat to Bohemians.
Goals in either half from Keith Ward and Andre Wright gave Bohs the victory at Dalymount Park. Michael Duffy grabbed a consolation in the 94th minute for Vinny Perth’s men.
Dundalk were on the front foot early on and Georgie Kelly almost put us in front when a wonderful ball from Cameron Dummigan put Georgie in but as he shot he was adjudged to have handled.
Georgie had a glancing header go inches wide from a Jamie McGrath cross next before a wonderful through ball from the number 10 put in Sean Murray but his shot was saved by James Talbot.
Sean Hoare showed his passing skill with an outstanding cross for Daniel Kelly but his shot was charged down and it fell to Dummigan but his shot from 30 yards was eh…well wide.
Bohemians took the lead against the run of play just before the half hour mark.
Danny Grant slipped the ball through to Luke Wade-Slater who got in behind Dane Massey and finished past Gary Rogers.
Daniel Kelly almost equalised just before the break when the ball fell to him at the back post from Dummigan’s cross but it was cleared off the line.
Dundalk upped the tempo straight after the break with Murray firing wide from the edge of the area and Hoare was given freedom of the park to advance from centre-half. He did and shot but Talbot saved well.
Bohemians were to double their lead shortly after the hour mark when Andre Wright was first to a loose ball on the edge of the area and his shot on the volley was excellent and found the bottom left corner.
Wright had a header go over the bar while at the other end Murray had a free-kick go into the wall.
Sean Gannon linked up with fellow substitute with the full back crossing for Lido Lotefa but the winger’s shot was blocked.
Michael Duffy pulled one back in injury-time however it wasn’t enough and Bohemians emerged 2-1 winners.
