McKee Signs On Loan
Dundalk FC are delighted to confirm that midfielder Joe McKee has joined the club on loan from Falkirk FC.
The Glasgow native comes to Oriel Park until the summer, and speaking exclusively to dundalkfc.com after the completion of the deal, explained his reasons for joining the the club.
“It’s all about winning games. I want to help win as many games as we can. I want to try do as well as I can for the team. I want to make an impact.”The midfielder is intent on making an impact in his time here and is confident his experience in the UK can help do that.
“Hopefully I can do that. Hopefully we can get things going and start with this weekend. I have played a few games in Scotland and England so I have a bit of experience. Hopefully that can help the team.”
The club made their move for McKee in response to injuries to Robbie Benson and Patrick McEleney, moving quickly to provide further strengthening of the first team squad to the coaching staff, by adding a player who can operate in a number of positions across midfield.
McKee added: “I am happy to be here. It has been a hectic few days and I am happy to get the deal done and join the club.
“I had to do a bit of research on the club and I only heard about it in the past few days but it’s good and good to get things done.”
“I came over for a look on Tuesday. I flew back on Wednesday but as soon as I came over for a look I knew I wanted to come here.”
McKee began his career with Livingston and Burnley before moving on to Bolton Wanderers after a loan spell with St. Mirren. A three year spell with Greenock Morton, winning Scotland League One, followed before a season with Carlisle United.
The 26 year-old joined Falkirk in January 2017 and he has been a member of the squad competing in the Scottish Championship, prior to his loan to Oriel Park.
