Mrs. Browns Boy’s Heart Care Programme
Over the last fortnight all of the Dundalk FC Academy players from U13s – U19s availed of Mrs. Browns Boy’s Heart Care programme which took place at Oriel Park.
The FAI rolled out Cardiac Screening for all underage League of Ireland squads over the coming months. The Cardiac Screening is part of the Mrs. Browns Boy’s Heart Care programme. This initiative was financially supported by Brendan & Jenny O’Carroll (Mrs. Brown’s Boys) and the Football Association of Ireland.
The service was delivered by Advanced Medical Services (AMS), the leading provider of Cardiac Screening in Ireland www.ameds.ie
The on-site Doctor-led Cardiac Screening service is aimed at reducing the incidents of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS). In Ireland approximately two young people die per week from SADS.
Tremendous credit is due to Brendan & Jenny O’Carroll and the FAI for this initiative.
