Audio: “My Proudest Moment as a Manager” – Foster
Dundalk FC boss Ian Foster has described the club’s progress to the Setanta Sports Cup final as his “proudest moment as a manager”, and he is now hoping that his side can “finish it off”.
The 34-year-old added: “I’m delighted for the players. I’m delighted for the football club, and ultimately the supporters, who have really got involved in the competition. I think the Linfield game whetted everybody’s appetite. I’m thrilled. It is the biggest thing for me as a manager, and hopefully we can go and finish it off.”
The Lilywhites entered the game with five players on yellow cards, meaning another caution against Cliftonville would have ruled them out of the decider on Saturday 14 May. And, having finished the game with no player booked, Foster declared: “That’s the biggest thing for us, after the result, is the fact that everyone from tonight will be available, bar an injury.”
