“It was a very good night. I thought we played very well in spells and we were thoroughly deserving of the win.”

Dundalk head coach Stephen O’Donnell was happy with his side’s display in the 2-1 win over Sligo Rovers at Oriel Park.

A Good Friday became a Great Friday as first-half goals from Patrick Hoban and Daniel Kelly put the Lilywhites 2-0 up at the break.

Max Mata’s last goal pulled one back for the visitors but it wasn’t enough to stop Dundalk from securing the three points that move the Lilywhites into third place.
