Biography
Vinny began his career in junior football with Cherry Orchard and won all the honours in the Leinster Senior League. He moved onto league of Ireland and signed under Stephen Kenny at Longford Town back in 1998 and spent 6 very successful years with the midlanders. He played a key role in the club’s promotion and survival in the top flight and played in Europe with the club. He has 2 FAI Cups and a league cup medal from his time with the club, the most successful in its history.

Perth then sought a new challenge and headed onto St. Patrick’s Athletic for a season or so and then moved onto Shamrock Rovers, where he was a squad member for their first division triumph. Perth then spent his final season as a professional player at Oriel Park when he signed for the club for an assault on the 2007 first division crown but injuries restricted him to just 17 games.

The following season he was named as assistant manager to Aaron Callaghan at Longford Town and succeeded him as manager until the end of the 2008 when Callaghan stepped down. Perth then went back to his junior roots and was appointed manager of Malahide United from 2010 to 2012 and left to take up his position as first-team coach with Dundalk in January 2013.
