Season Resumption: Supporter Information

Club News
// 22 Jul 2020

Dundalk FC season ticket holders will receive a FREE season pass subscription to WATCHLOI, the SSE Airtricity League’s new streaming service.

The streaming facility will show over 55 games from the SSE Airtricity League and extra.ie FAI Cup using RTE Sport’s cameras and commentary teams.

The club has always been conscious of the dedication and loyalty displayed by our season ticket holders during this pandemic. Providing season ticket holders with this season pass is the first step in repaying their commitment and support to the club.

Each season ticket holder will be presented with a unique code which can only be used once. The club will begin to distribute these in the coming days. If you are a season ticket holder and we do not have your email address, please contact office@dundalkfc.com

The club is aware that a number of season ticket holders may not regularly access our website or social media channels so we would encourage supporters to help raise awareness of the streaming pass to fellow supporters.

Non-season ticket holders can also subscribe to WATCHLOI at a cost of just €55 (€69 outside Ireland) for a season pass or on a match-by-match basis for €5. Subscriptions can be purchased at www.watchloi.ie. All sales of WATCHLOI will directly benefit the club.

It was the club’s hope that we would be able to welcome some supporters into Oriel Park for the resumption of the 2020 campaign but in line with public health guidelines, this, unfortunately, cannot happen.

Currently, a maximum of 200 people is allowed to attend matches. This figure includes all players, match officials, match delegates, security, cleaners, ground staff, media and other personnel required to run a game. As a result, we cannot admit supporters into the ground at this time.

This is a matter of significant regret to everyone at Dundalk FC but the club’s overriding priority during this pandemic has been the health and wellbeing of our players, coaches, staff and the local community and we must adhere to the guidelines which have been set.

Below are some questions that we believe supporters will ask about the new streaming service.

How much will Dundalk and FAI make from this?
The FAI is covering all production costs and all revenue from the platform will be split between the clubs.

I only want to watch Dundalk games; can I just buy a club pass?
No, currently you can purchase a season pass which will give you access to all league matches shown on the platform or you can purchase access on a match-by-match basis for just €5.

Will every league match be shown on the platform?
On the Island of Ireland, all matches apart from those shown live on EirSport are available via the platform. Outside the island of Ireland, every match is available.

Will the matches that are shown live on EirSport be available to watch in Northern Ireland?
Yes, you will be able to watch them via EirSport. They will not be available on WATCHLOI.

I am a Dundalk season ticket holder. Do I have to pay?
No, Dundalk season ticket holders will have a free streaming pass sent to them before our first match.

Is the current league fixture list correct?
No, the time and day of matches will be reviewed constantly to best suit streaming, live TV and the clubs. Fixtures have been set for the first few weeks and the following weeks will be reviewed in due course.

I’m not based on the Island of Ireland, do I still pay €55.
No, you will pay €69 or $79USD as you will have access to more matches than those in Ireland.

How many cameras will be at each game?
Unless the match is also being broadcast on TV, there will most likely be one camera at each match, but some games will have a two-camera setup.

Who are the commentators?
The commentators are being provided by RTÉ and most will be easily recognisable to league fans.

Will matches be available for catch-up on the platform?
Yes, all matches will be available until after the end of the season.

Can I access my account from any device?

Can I watch it on mobile?

If I live in Ireland and I travel abroad, can I still access my account?
Yes, you will have access for what you signed up for.
