Some of the staff and service users from the St John of God Venegas Centre paid a visit to Oriel Park on Wednesday afternoon.

Members of the first-team squad happily posed for pictures and took part in a penalty shootout with some of the centre’s users who were happy to showcase their skills!

Based on Hoey’s Lane, St John of God Venegas Centre provides support to people with intellectual disabilities and mental health issues.

St John of God’s north-east services has been running for 75 years. As part of their 75th-year celebrations, they held a recent community networking outdoor event for local organisations and businesses in the town.

Local businesses and organisations in attendance included Cuidigh Linn, Muirhevnamor FC, The Invictus Project, The Dundalk Red Cross, Praxis Care, Community Gardai and many more.

Lilywhites head coach Vinny Perth was the guest of honour on the day, where members of local community projects and organisations got to see first-hand the work of the centre.
