Tie Wrap Gang Donation to Charity
A group of Dundalk FC volunteers who have been nicknamed the “Tie Wrap Gang” due to the use of the fastener around Oriel Park, have donated the proceeds of a running a bus to Dundalk FC away games to the Maria Goretti Foundation.
“We also ran a world cup buster during the summer and the proceeds of that are included in the donation” said PRO David Caldwell.
He went on to say that the aim of the bus was not to make profit but there was some money left over at the end of the season and we decided to give it to charity The Maria Goretti Foundation was chosen as one of our volunteers works there and we through him of the great work that they do there providing respite care for children from all over Co. Louth.
It’s a small amount to give but we know it will be put to good use. We have been given a tour of the facility today and it really is a great place for the kids.
Facility manager Deirdre Quinn thanked the Tie Wrap Gang for their generous donation and also thanked the Dundalk FC players who took the time to attend and stood for pictures with all the children and parents.
