Dundalk FC U14 8-1 Cavan Monaghan U14

EA Sports U14 National Underage League Shield Group A

Dundalk U14s produced a performance of the highest quality on Saturday afternoon as they put eight goals past Cavan-Monaghan at Oriel Park.

The Lilywhites came into the game high on confidence, having beaten Drogheda United 6-1 just seven days earlier, and that confidence was clear to see as they ran riot against Cavan-Monaghan this weekend.

Simon Kelly’s side took control from the off, and took the lead early on through a Cian Spaight header. Cavan-Monaghan weren’t given any time to settle and would find themselves 2-0 down minutes later, with Runako Sweetman heading home for Dundalk.

Cavan-Monaghan managed to pull one back shortly after, but they weren’t in the game, as Sweetman bagged his second of the game before Fionn McNamara added a fourth with a brilliant strike.

The Lilywhites continued to push forward in search of more goals, and they added to their tally as Cian Murphy bagged a brace, before Niko Lovrenkovic and Jayden Clarke wrapped up the scoring.

It was another excellent performance and brilliant result for the U14s, who have now scored 14 goals in their last two games and are in excellent form heading into their clash with Finn Harps on October 9th at Oriel Park.
