Peamount United 2-2 Dundalk WU19

Our WU19 team extended their unbeaten run in EA SPORTS LOI Academy Group C to three games with a very impressive display away to league leaders Peamount United at PRL Park on Sunday.

The Lilywhites made the trip to Newcastle looking to build on a 4-0 win over Finn Harps a week earlier and they got off to a brilliant start when Molly Williams put them in front after just 10 minutes.

Peamount hit back through Ellen Dolan nine minutes before the break but Dundalk started the second half with intent and they pulled ahead again with 65 minutes played when Jodie McQuillan found the back of the net.

Jason McConville’s side looked comfortable as the game entered the final 15 minutes but they were pegged back with 11 minutes to go when Freya Healy converted a harshly-awarded penalty.

“It was another excellent performance,” said McConville. “Again, there were positives all around and it would be unfair to single any player out because they were all brilliant.”

“That’s three unbeaten now and we’re going in the right direction,” he added. “We feel that we are doing well and I think that’s showing in the results we are getting on the pitch now.”

The result leaves Dundalk in their place in the section, two points behind Shelbourne, who visit Oriel Park on Sunday, and a further one behind Peamount United.
