Lilywhites attacker Jamie Wynne has completed a move to SSE Airtricity League first division side Cork City.

The 19-year-old came through the youth set-up at Oriel Park and made his league debut for the club when he came off the bench in a 4-0 defeat at home to Shamrock Rovers in September 2020. He followed that up by making his European debut against Arsenal in the UEFA Europa League group stage game at the Dublin Arena in December.

Jamie trained with the first-team squad last week but his move to the Leesiders, who were relegated from the top flight last season, was confirmed on Wednesday afternoon.

“I became aware of Cork City’s interest and I spoke to Colin Healy; he sold the club to me, told me about full-time training, what kind of group it is and how they want to do things, and it really appealed to me,” said Wynne.

“When I thought about it, I really felt that, for my future, this is the best move for me to make. I want to get the head down, cement my place in the team and hopefully push for the top of the table and get the club back to where it belongs.”
