Dundalk FC are delighted to announce that forward Leo Gaxha has signed a new contract extension with the club.

The 23-year-old joined the Lilywhites ahead of the 2025 season and, after a slow start, quickly found form, scoring five goals in 18 games before an injury away to Finn Harps curtailed his campaign.

Speaking after putting pen to paper, Gaxha said he was determined to come back stronger than ever.

“The first three or four games I was probably a bit quiet, but the manager kept faith in me and I knew I’d find my form. Once I did, I felt like I was having a good season. Obviously the injury was a setback, but that’s football. My aim now is to come back even better than before. I want to keep improving and add more goals, especially the easy ones inside the box!”

Gaxha, who came through the Sheffield United academy before returning home to play with Kerry, also had spells at Galway United and Athlone Town before making the switch to Oriel Park to join Ciarán Kilduff’s newly-assembled squad this season.

Manager Ciarán Kilduff was delighted to see the Tralee native commit his future to Dundalk.

"Leo is a player that we look forward to working with again when he recovers from his injury. He has played a major role in our season and is someone I know the players, staff and supporters are excited to see playing in Oriel Park in 2026"
