Dundalk Credit Union announced as our new Women’s Football Patron and Community Sustainability partner

Dundalk FC is delighted to announce a new partnership with Dundalk Credit Union which will see the local member-owned financial cooperative become the club’s Women’s Football Patron.

As part of the new collaboration, Dundalk FC and Dundalk Credit Union have also established a Community Sustainability partnership which will see both organisations co-develop initiatives for their shared communities.

Dundalk FC and Dundalk Credit Union have a long history of collaboration and this latest venture will see Dundalk Credit Union’s logo featured on the front of the Dundalk FC WU17 and WU19 teams that compete in the EA SPORTS LOI Academy.

Women’s football is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world and Dundalk FC’s multi-year plan for women’s football will see a pathway developed to give all talented girls the opportunity to fulfil their potential as elite footballers.

As the existing Community Partner of the Louth Schoolgirls League, Dundalk Credit Union is proud to continue supporting the talented young players who may progress from the Schoolgirls League to senior football level with Dundalk FC.

Dundalk FC chief operating officer Martin Connolly said: “Dundalk FC is delighted to have Dundalk Credit Union as our Women’s Football Patron, and as part of this new agreement, our Community Sustainability Partner also.

“As a club, we have a long history of collaboration with Dundalk Credit Union, and we look forward to working together to strengthen and develop women’s football in Dundalk and to develop and implement community sustainability projects that will benefit the local community that we both share.”

Bernadette Farrell, chairperson of Dundalk Credit Union said: “Women’s football is one of the fastest growing sports in the world and our collaboration with Dundalk FC as Women’s Football Patron is something we are very proud of on behalf of our members and we are delighted that it will develop the foundations for a vibrant future for women’s football at Dundalk FC.
