Dundalk FC Academy Director Tom Mohan has praised the impact of the recent Pre-Academy camp, following three days of intensive double sessions.

The camp provided the academy coaching staff with an invaluable opportunity to work closely with the players across all key areas of development.

"It was a fantastic week," said Mohan. "Three days of double sessions gave us an even closer look at all the players—technically, tactically, physically, and even looking at the dynamics of the group. While a number of our girls were away representing inter-provincial teams—which is a great positive in itself—the work put in by everyone involved made it a really rewarding few days."

As part of the camp, players also took part in education sessions away from the pitch, with Matt Freeman delivering a talk on strength and conditioning and Jade Reddy speaking to the group about nutrition.

“I’d like to thank Matt and Jade for giving up their time to speak to the players,” Mohan said. “Learning about strength and conditioning and the right nutrition at this age is so important, and the players got a lot out of both talks.”

Crucial to the success of the camp and the wider academy structure has been the ongoing backing of the  Dundalk FC Supporters' Trust.

In addition to supporting academy events, the Trust sponsored new rain jackets for all participating players.

"We had great support once again from the Trust," Mohan added. "The kids are all proudly wearing their Dundalk gear with the Trust logo on the back, and they look great. That support is vital, and without it, running these programs would be significantly more challenging."

Dundalk FC would like to extend their thanks to The Trust for their generous support throughout the 2026 season.
