After an impressive recent run of games, including a dominant 10–0 home win over Mayo that saw the team surpass the 100-goal mark for the season, with Micheal Callan netting it, Dundalk’s U14s continued their fine form. A midweek friendly against Dungannon also ended positively, with the young Lilywhites securing a 4–1 victory against their cross-border opponents.

A disappointing draw on our last trip to Letterkenny ensured the squad was fully focused with a weeks training over the mid term in preparation for the return fixture.
The new forward pairing of Braiden McCarney and Ryan Musgrave proved fruitful early on, both finding the net in the first third after applying relentless pressure on the Harps backline from the opening whistle. The duo’s consistent scoring form this season once again highlighted their attacking quality.

A familiar position at two ahead going into the break. Learning from previous games the objective was to continue strong and not take pressure off. Captain Logan Hyland leading the team out with this message in mind scores a long anticipated headed goal from an impeccable free kick swung in by Aaron O’Brien. Not content with this he sees home another header from a corner kick.

A brief lapse in concentration allowed the visitors to pull one back, making it 4–1 heading into the final period.
The closing stages were largely one-sided, with Dundalk continuing to dominate possession and create chances, though the Harps defence held firm. Late on, Massimo Ngene found space down the left and slotted home with a composed finish across goal to round off a comprehensive 5–1 victory for the young Lilywhites.

Arguably the one of the best performances of the season, the squad is well on track to achieving it’s goal of an unbeaten second phase, with players looking forward to a final local Derby vs Drogheda in DIFE this Saturday at 11am
