⏰ Kick-off: 7.45PM
📍 Venue: Ferrycarrig Park
Dundalk FC make the trip south to Ferrycarrig Park this Friday night to take on Wexford FC in Matchday 30 of the SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division.
The Lilywhites head into the clash on the back of a thrilling 3-3 draw at Oriel Park against Kerry FC last Friday, a result that ended their five-game winning streak. Despite dropping points, Ciarán Kilduff’s men remain top of the table on 65 points, six clear of second-placed Cobh Ramblers, who closed the gap with victory over Athlone Town. With just seven games left, Dundalk know that every point is vital as they chase the title and promotion back to the Premier Division.
📈 Wexford’s Form

Wexford sit 7th in the table on 31 points, four off the playoff places currently held by Treaty United.
Their recent form has been mixed, with just one win in their last five matches. Last weekend they drew 2-2 away to Longford Town, but that followed three consecutive defeats, at home to Bray Wanderers (0-1), away to UCD (1-0), and away to Cobh Ramblers (4-0). Their last victory came in early August when they beat Finn Harps 2-1 at home.
Despite inconsistency, Wexford remain dangerous and boast the division’s second-top scorer Mikie Rowe, who has 15 league goals to his name, five behind Cobh’s Barry Coffey.
⚔️ Previous Meetings
This will be the fourth meeting between the sides in 2025, with Dundalk having won all three encounters so far.
The most recent clash came in July at Oriel Park when Dundalk edged out Wexford in a 3-2 thriller. Gbemi Arubi struck twice in the first half before Keith Ward added a third. Former Lilywhite Muhammed Harris and Mikie Rowe hit back for Wexford, setting up a nervy finish.

Earlier in May, the two sides played out another entertaining game in Ferrycarrig Park. Leo Gaxha opened the scoring for Dundalk before Wexford responded through Darragh Levingston and Rowe. Dean Ebbe equalised in the second half and Luke Mulligan struck late to complete a dramatic 3-2 comeback win.
Back in February, Dundalk ran out 3-0 winners at Oriel Park. A strong second-half performance saw Gaxha score twice and Keogh add a third to round off a comfortable victory.
Dundalk will now look to make it four wins from four against Wexford this season and continue their push towards the title.
🗣️ Kilduff’s Thoughts

Reflecting on last week’s result, Kilduff said:
We dropped two points last Friday against Kerry so we’ll be doing everything we can to get back to winning ways. We’ve scored a lot of goals in recent weeks and we’ve picked up 16 of the last 18 points available and we know with seven games to go we’re scrapping for every point and everything we can to try and finish this season as strongly as we can but we know we’ll always get a great travel and support.
Looking ahead to the challenge in Wexford, he added:
We had a tough game down here the last time, it took a late winner from Luke Mulligan to win us the game the last time in Wexford so it’ll be required more of the same, that character, that determination and that focus but we’ve had a great week of training, lads are eager to put on a good performance and we’ll travel down there full of confidence and ready to execute another big game for us and hopefully we can put our best foot forward as we always try to do.”
📋 Team News

Dundalk will be without Sean Spaight, Vinnie Leonard and Eoin Kenny, who are away on international duty. There are also a couple of late injury concerns to be assessed.
On the positive side, Luke Mulligan and Shane Tracey are both in contention to return, while Norman Garbutt has stepped up his recovery in recent weeks. Ethen Vaughan has completed his first full week of training and could feature from the bench. Overall, Kilduff has a strong squad available as Dundalk aim to return to winning ways.
