Dundalk FC are delighted to confirm the signing of Trevor Clarke from Shamrock Rovers, on a deal until the end of the 2027 season.
The 28-year-old put pen to paper on a deal to bring him to Oriel Park, and he will go straight into the squad for tomorrow night's match against Shelbourne at Tolka Park.
Manager Ciarán Kilduff welcomed the signing:
"The signing and arrival of Trevor Clarke is a huge positive for us. He should come straight into contention for Friday night once all the paperwork is done. It's a huge addition, someone I'm delighted to have at the club — someone with so much experience over the years, and still only 28, coming into his peak years now. It's great to get someone with his quality, and what he's going to bring to the group, on and off the pitch, is something we're all excited about. He's a player who's really determined and hungry to make a big impact, and we're delighted to have him."

Speaking on his first morning at Oriel Park, Trevor said:
"It was probably a couple of weeks ago now — there were a lot of phone calls going on with the gaffer, a lot of conversations. As soon as I got the call I was looking forward to getting in. There was nowhere else I would have liked to go."
On starting a new chapter after a successful career to date, he added:
"I'm always looking forward to a new chapter. A couple of leagues and cups won, and now moving on to the new chapter, looking to add more to the collection. When you look at this group, the togetherness they have and the willingness to fight for each other, I don't see why we can't do it here. Obviously push on for Europe — it's still all to play for."

On his impression of the squad, having faced them and watched them since:
"I've been watching the last couple of games since I knew this move was coming. The way the lads attack and get forward with the ball is really impressive, and the way they defend frees up the attacking players. That's something I'm looking forward to getting into. As an attacking player, that's what I'll bring — getting down the line, crosses, and hopefully a few goals as well."

On playing in front of the Oriel Park crowd:
"We've had some really good battles and a few tough games here over the years, especially early in my career when Dundalk were dominating — winning leagues, winning cups, playing in Europe. It's never an easy place to come. I'm looking forward to getting out at Oriel Park in front of the home fans — they're passionate, they love the club, and I want to give them something to cheer about."
With his first game coming against Shelbourne tomorrow night, he said:
"I'm happy it worked out that everything got done in time for me to be available for tomorrow. I don't think there's any easy game in this league — every match is going to be tough, and tomorrow night will be the same. I'm looking forward to getting going."
