Dundalk FC are delighted to announce the signing of Tyreke Wilson from Shelbourne.
Speaking following confirmation of his signing ahead of the start of the 2026 Premier Division campaign, Tyreke Wilson said the last week has been “a bit of a whirlwind”.
Speaking to DFCTV, Tyreke said: “As soon as I heard the manager wanted me, I wanted to come straight away…Dundalk is a massive club”.

Wilson also noted that knowing some of the squad has helped him settle in, including, of course, his brother J.R. “I obviously know a few of the lads, I played with Conor Kearns at Shels and Rob Cornwall at Bohs before.”
He has trained with the group and said the mood around the place is positive as preparations continue. With Dundalk’s opening fixture postponed, he felt the extra time has been useful. “The lads were disappointed the game was off,” he said, “but it’s helped me get in, get to know everyone, and hopefully I’ll be involved tomorrow.”
Known for his adaptability, Wilson believes his versatility can benefit the team. “I can play left or right, and sometimes in midfield as well,” he said.

Wilson was also impressed by the surface at Oriel Park, describing it as quick and enjoyable to play on. “It’s lovely. It’s very quick but much better than what it was before.”
He also referenced the sense of anticipation around the club, with Dundalk back in the Premier Division and upgrades continuing at the ground. “It’s really exciting times for the club,” Wilson said. “Hopefully the fans back us this year and we’ll do well.”
Looking ahead, Wilson is already eager for Dundalk’s first home match against Drogheda United. “Absolutely,” he said. “I’ve watched some of those games and they are always feisty — that’ll be really exciting.”
It all starts for Tyreke in Derry tomorrow night. “Everybody is buzzing for tomorrow. It’s a massive game. It’s not going to be easy but we are really looking forward to it.”
