Preview: Dundalk FC v St Patrick's Athletic

Having taken four points from their last two away fixtures, Dundalk FC return to Oriel Park on Monday evening to face Stephen Kenny's St Patrick's Athletic. (Kick-Off 7.45).

The game marks the beginning of a busy week for the Lilywhites, who also welcome Shelbourne to Oriel Park on Friday night. St Pat's arrive in Dundalk with the opportunity to move to the top of the Premier Division after their 2-0 victory over Shamrock Rovers on Friday.

With the season entering its final stages, Dundalk will be looking to build on recent results and continue their push towards a strong finish to the campaign.

Manager Ciarán Kilduff is focused on maintaining the momentum gained from the club's recent away form.

"We're looking forward to getting back to Oriel. We know St Pat's have plenty to play for and they'll come here knowing a win could take them to the top of the table, but our focus is on our own objectives.

"Taking four points from our last two games is something we're pleased with, particularly as both matches were away from home. The challenge now is to bring that momentum back to Oriel and start putting together a run of results on our own pitch.

"We're coming into a really important stage of the season and that's something the players are fully aware of. Every game carries a bit more significance now and we're determined to make the most of the opportunities ahead of us.

"The schedule has been demanding. Going from Friday to Monday and then straight into another game on Friday takes a lot out of the group, and we've picked up a few knocks that will need to be assessed.

"We'll have a couple of players needing late fitness checks and Keith Buckley is unavailable through suspension after accumulating yellow cards, so we're a little stretched in certain areas.

"That said, we've got a group that's ready to compete. Whoever is selected will be fully prepared and motivated to put in a strong performance.

"We're looking forward to being back in front of our supporters and hopefully we can give them a result to get the week off to a positive start."
