Dundalk will be hopeful of picking up a win in Vinny Perth’s first match back at the helm when Longford Town visit Oriel Park on Friday, June 18th at 7:45pm.

The Lilywhites go into the game on the back of a hugely disappointing 3-1 defeat at home to Waterford last Friday, a result that left Dundalk third from bottom, with 17 points from 15 games.
Fans and players alike will be hoping that Perth’s first game in charge since the Champions League first qualifying round against NK Celje last August results in three points, and a subsequent upturn in form, as the Lilywhites hope to push towards the European places.
Longford Town are currently in the midst of a 14-game winless run, with their only victory this season coming against Derry City on the opening day. The Midlanders have lost their last five league games, with their last point also coming again against the Candystripes in a 1-1 draw in early May.
Daire Doyle’s side currently sits 10 points behind the Lilywhites after 15 games, scoring just 10 times and conceding 28, the second-worst record in the division. However, they earned a draw in the reverse fixture between the sides at the start of May at Bishopsgate when a late Chris Shields goal snatched a point for the Lilywhites.
