In their first season at League of Ireland level, our MU14 players are continuing to make great strides week by week, which was evident from their performance against a Bohemians side with a 100% record at the Oscar Traynor on Sunday.

Bohemians 3-1 Dundalk FC MU14
EA SPORTS MU14 LOI Academy Group A

The opening third proved to be very even with both sides cancelling each other out. For Dundalk, Jude McGinty and Jamie Grace controlled the midfield and Robert Cotter and Tristan McGowan Doyle proved to be very solid at the back.

The second period started in much the same vein as the first and the young Lilywhites were handed a boost when Mason Molyneaux made a welcome return, adding more bite to the midfield.

Cian Mulligan’s side looked a threat, with Jude McGinty a thorn in the Bohs side, but The Gypsies drew first blood in the 38th minute when Israel Kanda opened the scoring after a counter attack and they added a second just two minutes later through Ben Nicholls.

Dundalk looked energised in the final third with Conall Whyte and Cillian Hughes giving impetus on the right-hand side and after some sustained pressure, Adam Zivkovic pulled a deserved goal back.

That looked to set the visitors up for a storming finish but Temisan Arubi restored Bohs’ two-goal cushion in the 67th minute to seal the win for the hosts.
