It was another excellent weekend for our underage sides with four of the five teams in action coming out victorious from their matches.

MU14 // Longford Town 1-4 Dundalk MU14

Our MU14 team travelled to the midlands on Saturday where they produced a comprehensive display to run out 4-1 winners against Longford Town at Bishopsgate.

Hughie Martin maintained his recent run of goalscoring form with a hat-trick while Alex Gaughran added a fourth for Shane Grimes’s side who have now won their last three games on the spin.

MU15 // Dundalk MU15 3-2 UCD

Vincent Leonard’s brace helped our MU15 team to come out on top of a five-goal thriller against UCD at Oriel Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Lilywhites captain opened the scoring in the 10th minute before the Students equalised through Sean Murphy 10 minutes before the end of the first period.

The same two players were on target at either end again to leave it locked at 2-2 before Jack Martin bagged what proved to be the winner with an hour played.

The result moves the MU15s into second place in the Tier Two North table, two points behind UCD.

MU17 // Dundalk MU17 1-3 UCD

After seeing their LOI Cup dreams ended by UCD in July, our MU17 team slipped to their first defeat of the Elite Phase section against the Students at Oriel Park on Saturday evening.

After a scoreless first half, a brace from UCD midfielder Lorcan Moore put the visitors in the driving seat and although Hugh Smith pulled one back from the penalty spot with 12 minutes to go, the visitors sealed the win through Hugh Parker in stoppage time.

Despite the loss, Dundalk remain top of the league table but their lead over Shelbourne is down to just a single point with just four games remaining.

WU17 // Dundalk WU17 2-1 Longford Town

On Saturday, our WU17 team moved joint top of the Tier Two North table with their third straight league win against Longford Town at Oriel Park.

The visitors got off to a brilliant start, going ahead through Chloe Hopkins in the sixth minute but the Lilywhites responded brilliantly and goals from Ava McGeer and Niamh Norton before the break secured an important win.

WU19 // Dundalk WU19 2-0 Finn Harps

With just four games to play, our WU19 team remain top of the Tier Two North table following a 2-0 win over Finn Harps in the rain at Oriel Park on Sunday.

The goals arrived in the final 20 minutes with Sarah Byrne’s opener followed by Zara Farrell’s late strike; Molly Williams and Hannah Cooney providing the assists.

Next up for the WU19s is a trip to Bohemians on Sunday before they entertain second-placed Galway United a week later.
