DERVIN EXTENDS CONTRACT AT ORIEL

Dundalk FC is delighted to announce that midfielder Aodh Dervin has signed a new three-year contract extension with the club.
The 27-year-old Longford native joined the Lilywhites from Galway United in July 2024. The club vice-captain, Aodh has since become a firm fan favourite over his 86 appearances.
Dervin came through the academy at his hometown club, Longford Town, and made his senior debut aged 17. He went on to play for Shelbourne, reaching the 2022 FAI Cup final, and won the First Division title with Galway United in 2023 before joining Dundalk.

Speaking after signing his new deal, Aodh said: “I’m delighted to have extended my contract for another three years and I hope I will have many more years after that.
“I’m in a very lucky position. I have settled into the town really well, I have family up here too. I love it here and I think the club is going to go from strength to strength.
“My aim is to win trophies at Dundalk FC. I know that is the belief among all the players. It hasn’t been easy recently and we are disappointed that there has been a dip in results. But a winning culture has been instilled in the group by the manager. We all feel that we are in an environment that has high expectations and we all want to be part of it.

“We can all see the improvements in the club this year. The signing of the four lads from the Academy this week is another big statement. They are great players. I try to help young players the same way more experienced players at Longford Town helped me. I plan on doing my coaching badges, and I have seen the quality of our academy and the work that the coaches do. It’s great to see four lads winning their first professional contracts, and hopefully there is more to come.
“It’s just more evidence that the club is making progress. I am delighted that all is now settled and I will be here to be part of the journey.”
Dundalk Football Club would like to thank Peter at Halpin Sports Partnership for his assistance with this process.
