Dundalk FC to Celebrate 100 Years in the League of Ireland in 2026

In 2026, Dundalk Football Club will mark a truly historic milestone — 100 years since the club first entered the League of Ireland.

For a century, Dundalk FC has been woven into the fabric of the town and its people. Long before modern football, long before floodlights and European nights, the club took its place in the League of Ireland in August 1926 — and it has never stopped belonging to those who followed it.

From those early days, the club has grown into one of the most recognisable and successful names in Irish football, shaped by generations of supporters, volunteers, players and staff.

Every generation has its own Dundalk memories: heroes admired, matches remembered, seasons that defined a time in our lives. Some supporters have followed the club for decades, others only for years, but all share the same connection — the feeling that Dundalk FC is ours.

As Dundalk FC approaches its 100th year in the League of Ireland, the focus is not only on what has been achieved, but on what has been carried forward — loyalty, identity and a sense of belonging that no result can take away. That is the legacy of the first hundred years, and the foundation for the next.

To honour this landmark anniversary, the club intends that 2026 will be recognised as a full Year of Centenary Events and Projects. It will be a year to reflect on where we have come from, to recognise the people and moments that contributed, and after some difficult years, look forward with optimism to the next chapter of Dundalk FC.

While planning is ongoing, the centenary year will provide opportunities to celebrate the club’s history in a variety of ways.

As a first step towards marking this special year, Dundalk FC is launching our Centurion Membership.

Centurion Membership is an opportunity for supporters to be part of the club’s centenary from the very beginning. It is designed for those who wish to formally mark their connection to Dundalk FC’s 100-year League of Ireland journey — whether they have followed the club for a lifetime or are only starting their own story with the Lilywhites.

This membership is the opening chapter of what will be a wider centenary programme, with further announcements to follow in the months ahead.

As we approach 2026, Dundalk FC looks forward to celebrating this milestone together with our supporters, our community and everyone who has played a part in the club’s story over the past 100 years.
