Galway United v Dundalk FC: Preview

Dundalk FC return from the mid-season break as they travel to Cork to play Galway United in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.

Friday's match kicks-off at 7.45 and is live on loitv.ie

Dundalk currently sit fourth in the table, following consecutive home wins over Shamrock Rovers and Derry City, as well as a draw away to Drogheda United in their last three league outings.

During the break, Daryl Horgan was named SSE Airtricity/Soccer Writers’ Player of the Month for May, while Gbemi Arubi and Eoin Kenny were on international duty at U21 level with the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland respectively.

Ciaran Kilduff Comments

“We’re really looking forward to our first game back after the break. We’ve had two great battles with Galway already this year, with very little between the teams in both games, so we’re expecting another tough one.

As always, we’ll be concentrating on ourselves, but we know in this league there are no easy games and we expect nothing different.

From a squad point of view, everyone who was available before the break is fit and ready to go. The long-term injuries like Norman Garbett and Connor Parsons are still sidelined, but aside from that, we’re in a good place.

We’re excited to get the second half of the season up and running and we’re hoping to go and put in a strong performance.”
