Leinster Senior Cup: St Peter's 5-2 Dundalk FC

Dundalk FC, featuring a mostly academy based team, were beaten 5-2 by St Peter's at McCarthy Park, Athlone, in the Leinster Senior Cup Group Stage opener.

Goals from Jonathan Kiernan and Dylan Gavin gave the hosts a 2-0 lead at half-time. A Darcy Lawless own-goal made it 2-1 after 54 minutes before Niall Scullion restored St Peter's two-goal lead. Captain Luke Mulligan made it 3-2 on the hour mark.

The key moment in the match came after Enda Minogue was sent-off after conceding a penalty in the 67th minute. After Gavin scored from the spot, Dylan Sumner completed the scoring in the closing stages.
