Dundalk U15s made it two wins from two in the new Academy season with a hard-earned 1-0 victory over Longford Town.
The game’s only goal arrived on nine minutes as Luciano Ngene picked out twin brother Massimo, who finished to give Dundalk an early lead. Dundalk went on to create a host of chances and controlled long spells, but couldn’t find the second goal their play deserved as Longford defended stubbornly.

Manager Stephen Todd was pleased with both the result and the defensive effort: “I’m happy we got the 3 points and the clean sheet. We probably deserved a goal or two more but Longford defended well and we could’ve been more clinical in front of goal. We’re off to the perfect start so it’s just about maintaining this momentum now.”
Dundalk: Joseph Byrne, Nathan Kelly-Murphy, Luciano Ngene, Reece Grimes, Harry Quinlivan, Logan Hyland, Braiden McCarney, Kyle Woods, Massimo Ngene, Aaron O'Brien, Ryan Musgrave.
Subs: Aaron Sheridan, Michael Callan, Conall Whyte, Tadgh Maples, Luke O'Connor, Killian Melia, Romeo Wusu, Tony O'Kane.
