Dundalk FC have confirmed that Luke Mulligan has signed a new contract, keeping him at Oriel Park for the 2026 season.
The midfielder said committing his future to the club was an easy decision after last season. “Especially after last year, such a good year, it’s just good to be back. As soon as I was offered it, I was going to accept it straight away,” he said.
Mulligan featured across a number of roles and remains open to playing wherever needed. “In general I like playing midfield, but I’m probably better at right-back — it’s just not as fun!”
Playing in front of the Dundalk supporters at Oriel Park left a lasting impression on Mulligan. “I didn’t expect it at all,” he said. “The game against Cobh stands out for me — that was the best atmosphere I’ve had. The support we get in Oriel can be game-changing. It can be the difference between winning and losing, or drawing and losing. It’s a massive difference. Hopefully we’ll experience more of that this year.”
