Dundalk FC return to action at Oriel Park on Friday night as they take on Waterford FC, with the Lilywhites back at home after three successive away matches.
Last Friday, Dundalk responded strongly to a disappointing result at Richmond Park by turning in a very positive performance in Galway, where they earned a 2-2 draw. The visit of Waterford marks the beginning of a busy weekend at Oriel, with Sligo Rovers due in town on Monday night. Ciaran Kilduff Comments
“We’re looking forward to what should be a very competitive and close game. We’re delighted to be back in Oriel Park after having just one of our opening five games at home. It’s a great opportunity to play in front of our fans again.
In the opening game against Drogheda, we were pleased with our performance but disappointed to concede late. Hopefully, this time, we can produce a complete performance at home and start making Oriel a fortress in front of our own supporters.
Waterford have established themselves as a Premier Division side and they will come here with ambitions of their own, so it should make for a very good game. We’re looking forward to being back at Oriel Park and hopefully making it a difficult place for teams to come this season.”
Daryl Horgan Comments
“They are a very good team with dangerous attacking players, and we know exactly how tough a test this will be. We obviously know Jon Daly well, and he is an excellent coach and manager. They have probably been a bit unlucky with some of their results so far, so we know we will have to be at our best.
With Sligo Rovers to come on Monday as well, it is a big few days for us, but all that matters right now is putting in a strong performance on Friday night in Oriel Park.”
